Snow at the Beach

Beauty in all Seasons

Today I awoke to the sun shining on the water and the land covered in sparkling white snow.  If you think the beach is beautiful in the summer months when you can lay down on the warm sand and play in the cool water, well you are right.  But,  you haven’t experienced the stunning beauty of winter on the water.
The blazing whitness of the snow makes the water seem a darker blue by contrast. Even the sky color seems to be deeper.  Snow clings to all the surfaces changing the shape of all the objects it covers.
But it’s the shadows that captivate me the most.  With the early morning light while the sun is still low on the horizon,  extremely long shadows are cast across the landscape.  These shadows are filled with unbelievable colors.  Purples, blues, pinks and greys melt together and live within the shapes that are formed . Do you take the time to see the colors that surround you daily? As an artist I am able to see  more colors and apply them to my paintings.

My goal with this blog is to get you painting and I would love to see what you can do with this photo. Try to put color onto paper and create some shapes. I would enjoy seeing what you come up with.  I encourage everyone to explore this wonderful thing called art.  Whether you’ve been painting from childhood or today will be your first try   GO FOR IT.   Send me your art work of this scene so I can post it right here and show others your joy of painting.

PAINT with ME    it will change how you see the world around you!!!
