Purple Snow

Mother Nature covered the ground with a 27″ blanket of  soft sparkling snow.  Tonight, as the sun was setting I headed outside to capture the long colorful shadows.

I am amazed by the lighting and colors that appear on the white snow during sunset, this is truly a magical time of day. I am especially drawn to the golds next to the purples, these colors play nicely off one another.

I’ll find time during these last few days before Christmas to play with my watercolors and try to create the colors and shapes I found today in nature.  Take a break from the hustle of the season and
