A Week of Painting with Friends

Today I packed my art supplies and met my friends, Karin & Mario, and we headed north for a week of watercolor painting.

Mario and a car full of our supplies as we prepare to leave Long Island

From my house it is a 3 1/2 hour car trip to Greenville NY where we are attending a workshop with the amazing artist David Daniels.  The accommodations at the Greenville Arms 1889 Inn,  home of  The Hudson River Valley Art Workshops, are charming & comfortable. This artist friendly B&B holds dozens of workshops throughout the year and I’ve become a regular guest attending at least 1 event each year over the past 6 years. I have met so many terrific people during my time here and I have made a few new dear  friends, therefore I’m looking forward to meeting the other artists at the welcoming reception tonight.

As soon as we hugged David and said our hellos we set up our supplies to help us get in the mood for 5 days of painting and playing with watercolors

After dinner we spent several hours in the studio laughing and preparing for tomorrow, a full day of painting. If you’ve never attended a week-long workshop you must give it a try. The other artists are friendly and interesting people. Going with your friends is the greatest experience. We all share a love for painting and a desire to grow and learn new techniques. Having David as our instructor is PRICELESS.
