Negative Painting-a Fun Exercise

_______________________________________________________________________

I love finding easy ways to paint with my non-painting family members and negative painting is perfect. Not only is it fun but you get results that have everyone feeling like an artist.

Start by filling your paper with multi colors and let it completely dry.

Pencil in the tree shape and paint around them getting darker with each layer you add.  Simple!

These are my paintings which are more intricate. It only takes practice to advance yourself in this technique.

Here is another artist who paints with her grandsons, I don’t know who’s more fortunate her or the boys  🙂

  1. Thanks for sharing your technique for these paintings! You know they’re my favorites of late, even more now that I know the method behind them.

Also, thanks for the birthday wishes! I never expected you should have to remember my birthday… I’m terrible at remembering friends’ birthdays! 😉
