Watercolor Wedding Favors

My nephew Patrick is getting married and I offered to create a handmade favor to give to each guest as a remembrance of the celebration of his wedding.

Using watercolor paper I marked off the size needed for each mini painting. I painted a colorful wash across each horizontal strip. When completely dry I added 1 layer of negative tree shapes in a slightly darker color.

I added a second layer of tree shapes in a much darker color to complete the paintings.

In this picture you can see the upper strip is the first wash of color which will allow me to design flowers.

These are  samples of the strips I painted.

You can be as creative as you like. Paint what you enjoy because you will be doing many of them to complete this project.

I’m using mini picture frames to place the paintings in.

Each strip is cut along the pre-measured lines to fit inside the frames.

The frames are taken apart, cleaned, the artwork placed inside & reassembled.

These will be placed on the tables at each guest’s place setting.

As the guests enter the reception the tables will look beautiful filled with flowers and tiny gifts for them to take home. These favors will be a wonderful remembrance of the day they shared celebrating the marriage of Patrick & Catherine. I had a good time working on this gift I give to my nephew and wish the Bride & Groom a lifetime of love & happiness.
